    Hey guys,

I decided to do a lift on my truck. So I seen these blocks online that could be used to lift the rear by adding it between the leaf springs and the axle and tightening it down with the new U-blots. Is this how it's typically done for lifting the rear, or can I just buy a new shock that would lift the rear? Or would a combination of two would be best? There is a loud thump towards the back going over bumps. It doesnt happen all the time but it happens. Do you guys think it's not tightened enough?

    Thanks for the help everyone!

    Hey,

So for lifting the rear you can do blocks or longer leaf shackles. For shackles id look at toyteclifts.com. And if you lift the rear you will need longer shocks. As for the front youd just need to find a set up that is for a PreRunner. And for the thump in the back its hard to say what that is without hearing, seeing, and feeling it. Hope this helps though.

I had the coil spacers in the front and blocks in the back. Got tired of it and got these bad boys from Toytec20150522_183054.jpg

Then did the longer shock and AAL for the rear. I recently replaced the old leafs with some OE springs from napa. When they wear ill go with a bigger leaf.
This was the old set up with block. 20150523_104731.jpg
    After. With AAL
    20150523_145133.jpg
I did not need extended rear brake line with the 1 inch lift blocks. But with the AAL's I did.
Doing my Stabilizer bar with energy suspension bushings helped more than I expected too.

Your loud thump could be loose shocks, sticky leaf spring or possibly something in the rear end. Mine clicked and popped after the AAL, but eventually went away. Scared the hell out of me.

I'm about to go the same exact thing. You feel a difference in the ride? Lift height? I feel like my spacers didn't give me a full 3 inches. Maybe cause my springs are bad or something. I never did take measurements so maybe it's just me

Yea man alot stiffer and my "spacer" lift said 3 inches...no these put the front and back up another 1.5 inches over the stock billys and spacers. Now my stock suspension had 239k on it but still. Haha. I have a prerunner and the top of the spindle taps the spring, i just gotta get under there and turn the springs to it has a space. Went to pepboys to try an align it...nope they suck so Im taking it to toyota on saturday. They said they can get it. I couldnt justify $500-800 on UCAs just for a truck that is 80% road and 20% hunting trails. I also have the Carrier Bearing drop and 2 degree shims under the leaf springs. Toytec also makes some leaf spring brackets to keep you pack straight, got those on the way. Its the little things. Lol. You wont be let down for sure.

This is after W/o fender flares.

I painted them to put back on after the lift...then the women let the dog go through the garage and stepped on them.............all over my freshly painted flares. I'll try again this weekend.

This was original spacer lift in the front and AAL minus blocks in the back. The driveway isn't level.

You can see how much higher the back is to the front compared to when I towed that F250.
