While you have a specific answer for your pad of choice, I thought I'd share some experience.

I've used a lot of aftermarket pads, including Hawk, EBC, Raybestos, Wagner and parts house labeled bits, either on my own stuff or helping other folks with theirs. I've found that if the braking system is stock, the pads you are buying have always fit and installed the same way as OE bits. Even when they are a 'performance' pad with a more aggressive compound, they still fit the same. I've always found them to be the same in all dimensions, and nuances like little holes for anti chatter springs, etc.

Of course there may be some that don't meet my experiences. I've certainly not worked with them all. But one thing is almost bound to be true. If you install a set of pads w/o shims, and you hear lots of sounds that don't seem right, you can always go back and add them. For the most part their purpose is noise control, so you shouldn't hurt anything.

I just put on the Yellowstuff pads and used the stock shims with no ill effect.
