Well, the girl and I are planning a two week road trip this June, so I wanted to create a thread to get advice and document the trip.:D

I will be traveling from Denver, through Utah, into Arizona, then back to Colorado. If you know anything about the places I am going, know of something awesome that I do not have listed (like a scenic side-route), or have camping suggestions, please post! I am also looking to do some light wheeling.

Here are the stops that I currently have planned:

Glenwood Springs - James M Cobb Campground - 1 night
Cisco Utah - Ghost Town off I-70
Arches National Park/Moab - 2 nights looking for suggested camping
    Balanced Rock
    Double Arch
    Moab Brewery
Capitol Reef National Park - 2 nights looking for suggested camping
Bryce Canyon - 2 nightslooking for suggested camping
Zion National Park - 2 nights looking for suggested camping
    Walter's Wiggles
Little Hollywood Movie Set Museum - set used in many Westerns
Cliff Dwellings - Marble Canyon, AZ - stone 1930's buildings
Little Colorado River - light blue color river, for some swimming
Navajo Bridge - Steel Arch Bridge over Colorado River (on route)
Horseshoe Bend - Simple hike to iconic section of Colorado River looking for suggested camping near here
Antelope Canyon - 2 nights looking for suggested camping
    Desert View Watchtower (Grand Canyon)
Grand Canyon - 2 nights looking for suggested camping
Navajo Code Talkers Display - In a Burger King, lol
Monument Valley looking for suggested camping
    Four Corners
Ute Mountain Casino (Back into CO) - Will camp 1 night
    Mesa Verde National Park
Durango, CO - 1 night looking for suggested camping
    Mancos Valley Distillery
    Ska Brewery
    Chimney Rock
    Riff Raff Brewing
    Treasure Falls
    Three Barrell Brewery
    Colorado Gators Reptile Park
Great Sand Dunes - 2 nights looking for suggested camping
    Zapata Falls
    BACK HOME!!!

I am getting an RTT for our accommodations. We will have mountain bikes, a travel grill, a big ol' cooler, and whatever else we need (haven't gotten that far yet). We will probably budget for a couple nights in hotels incase we just need to get out of the elements.

Anyway, let me know what you think and if I am missing anything!!

BTW, I am using an awesome website called roadtrippers.com to plan the trip. In addition to helping find cool stops, it tracks distances, times, and fuel use/cost. It will serve as my secondary GPS on the trip!

BUMP! I know some of you have knowledge about this area!

I just got an awesome deal on a Yakima hitch mounted bike rack off of CL. That will free up lots of space in the bed!

I've been to Bryce and Zion. I didn't camp but I can tell you that you will be floored at how cool that place is. One place I would recommend in Moab is white rim trail. It's about a 2 day 4x4 trail so you'll have to camp. I've never been but it's on my bucket list. Probably next summer/fall.
