So im working out a deal that ill be buying a genuine trd exhaust with trd etching on the tip. He pulled the exhaust off, not to long after buying the tacoma. Ive never bought a used exhaust from someone, does anyone have any advice before i buy this off of him? I know that itll fit, we both the same truck, double cab short bed. Should i look for any specific branding to confirm its genuine? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

They are SS so most likely not rusted.
Should be good to go. TRD muffler is smaller dia. so just compare to yours.
    Easy to swap also, enjoy.

I have about 13k on my truck. Could i swap out the gaskets from my exhaust? Or is it better to get new gaskets?

New gaskets whenever you unbolt the couplers IMO. Cheap insurance against exhaust leaks.

Always new gaskets at joints where unbolted. They crush and if reused, usually leak. Do it right or do it over!

Had a picture with the TRD muffler showing the part number but can't find it now. The two exhausts should look pretty much identical with the exception being the TRD muffler is about 1/2 the diameter of the stock muffler. Depending on the year Taco it came off of and is going on to the brackets may be different 2013 to present uses the same hangers, pre 2013 may be different. I swapped out a 2015 for a 2015 so no issues. Soap or such on the rubber hangers makes it easier to get the hangers off. Also, if doing the swap on the ground, jack up the back end of the truck as high as you can without picking up any tires and then pull the exhaust out towards the front of the vehicle (I used a floor jack under a drop hitch as I have the tow package). Also, when removing / installing, alternate tightening / untightening the spring bolts rather than doing one side all the way at once. About a 20 minute job if all goes well...hardest part was getting the rubber hangers off as it was a new vehicle. I re-used the "doughnut" gasket but only had 1200 miles on the truck...it is always good to replace it.
