I wouldn't like to replace my 08 for new Toyota trucks these years

Today, when I was looking at the new Toyota Hilux 2016 or the 3rd Gen. Tacoma, or the newer cars, I was seriously happy I bought my Tacoma TRD Sport in 2008. I just think for example that newer cars are not necessary better than the previous year. I really hate their new look (HILUX and TACOMA), and it won't grow on me, when I saw the 2005 TACOMA for the first time I already loved it.

If I take the Tacoma TRD sport for instance, the true mechanical LSD was no more available in 2009, instead, they put an "auto LSD". The 3rd Gen will have a new engine, but is smaller, I heard the new Tacoma will only do a little better in towing...
The Toyota Prado KDJ 120 had 8 seats and the new one KDJ 150 only have 7 seats and is heavier. Also the 2016 models will have the same engine from the HILUX which is a 2.8 D4D instead of the 3.0 D4D. Sure the newer engine will normally consumes less fuel, but the torque and HP are not so different than the 3.0. I really thought Toyota would go bigger when I see the FORD Ranger which still is the leader in power and torque.
If I had the choice I will buy again those old generations models from Toyota, especially the Land Cruiser or the Prado from the year 2000.

In a nutshell, I just think that many of the new models lost many great things they had when they evolved. Always some compromise...

I'm not even looking at new trucks/cars now...I bought mine in late 2013 with the idea to keep it until I quit working when I'm 50 (~18years) at the pace I'm going, it will have less than 250k mls on it by then and with good maintenance, that should be an achievable goal.

Who knows what's out there in 18 years, I'll worry about that when I get there.

Same as you, and when you see some TW members who are able to achieve more than 350 000 miles, you just keep these trucks.
