lift kit and ride performance

    My 2014 Tacoma TRD sport is nice, but I keep seeing aftermarket Tacomas, and I'm getting the itch, not that itch. Anyway, I spoke to a certified shop that does truck mods, he told me if I just get shock spacers to fit slightly larger tires that it will make the ride much rougher and wear down the shocks much quicker. He recommended a whole lift kit with new shocks, with a fireman discount, it would be $1200 installed, not including tires. I like the factory Alloy wheels, so I only want to add 265/70/17, he said I could go up to 265/75/17 on factory wheels though. With that said, anyone know if a whole new lift kit adds to ride performance, obviously going to loose some MPG. Pros/Cons?

    Bilstein 5100 and OME shocks. Eibachs springs or the correct corresponding OME springs 884, 885 for light armor, 886 for heavy armor, or if you wanna get into more money look into coilovers. AAL in the rear vs blocks vs new leaf packs. You need to do alot more searching. In short spacers reduce ride quality and with the right shocks/springs- you can make your truck ride smoother then a Cadillac.

    you do lose MPG from the lift itself via increased drag. minimal but its there
