Where to put large spare tire?

I dig those tire gates. A really good look and very user friendly. Just a question, with it mounted in the center like that does it give you a big blind spot? Judging from the look of that truck it seems like maybe you don`t care! Looks good but definately not designed for city use with little cars sneaking in beside you. Just curious, not a bad comment. Truck looks kick ass

I think an elegant fix would be to cut the four arms, weld in a 1" extension piece and then weld the arms back on. I think I am going to try to find a local welding shop that can do that. Any thoughts?
