Coilovers should be here today or tomorrow. Looking to put 14" 650# springs on them. Also This weekend while we have the bed on I might start making the rear shock mounts, that away I can see how long of a shock I need and get to looking for some. Hopefully we can get the frame all plated and start coating it with chassis saver.

Icons are in. There a little ruff, but they will work.

    Started cutting up the frame.

There was so much dirt and pieces of the frame inside..

    All the damage.

In the process, somehow something moved but we got it all back and level again
Forgot the port-a-power so we improvised.

Then it was time to start patching and plating
Fab'd up a new cab mount.

All plated and ready for paint!

    First coat of chassis saver.

    Final coat.

    Painted the diff as well.

Now its time to start working on the cab to get it ready for paint. We have to do some body work and finish sanding. As well as start sanding on the doors, fenders, and bed.

Toytec u bolt flip kit came in.

Got the rear axle back under it. Its setting about 4 inches high, hopefully it goes down when we get everything back on.

Fixed the big dent on the back of the cab. Its not perfect but we will fill it in with body puddy.

    Valve cover gasket replaced.

    old stuff

While I was doing that my dad was fixing all the rust beneath the drivers side door.

Had to cut out sheet metal from the old bed and shaped them to fit. Didn't come out too bad...

The intake manifold and throttle body was caked with oil on the inside. Anyone have an idea how to clean it out?

I can't wait to see this thing when you're done! Hopefully the rear settles lower because that shackle angle looks pretty bad

Ya I figured that the shackle angle was not good. Hopefully ounces everything is on it will. Its only suppose to give 2.25-2.5 inches I thought. I need to figure out what to do with the intake manifold so I can put it back on.

Brake or carb cleaner? You can pull the whole piece off of the block and just clean it right?

    Reserected from the dead.
    Subbed.

All my toyota trucks were auction wrecks. I know the work you are doing. It's fun isn't it?

I started out the same way. Mostly.

My dad bought me my first car. It ran but was wrecked. He also bought the same vehicle, but with a blown motor. He told me to put them together and you will have your first car. It was tough because we didn't have the internet yet. At 14 years old, it was a big job. 30 years later, I have not bought a single vehicle that was not wrecked.

Ya its fun! And if you have all the stuff to do it, cheaper as well. Time consuming and a lot of work though.

With no weight on the frame they'll sit up. once the cab and bed get put on it will still be up a little but not that much

you can just spray it down with carb/TB cleaner and let it sit. it's mostly carbon/varnish buildup. the cam rollers looked a little darker too but that could be from it sitting. maybe after an oil change or two they'll look better

 will have to let it set in some stuff see what it does. Now I can't let that stuff set in the intake manifold that is bolted in the block still can I?

bed liner, that's it for now
When I first saw this I thought the best idea for this truck was a 5 gallon can of gas and a match. but now I can see you really can't kill a Tacoma! Great job OP. Looking forward to seeing her all put back together!

We are going to make rear and front plate bumpers and probably some sliders. I've been think about monstalining them in desert sand. What do you guys think? The truck will be in pyroclastic.
