    Hi all.

Simple question, complicated responses. I recently mounted some Kawell

4.2" LED lights to the top of my stock bumper on my 2000 Tacoma. They work fine, but...

I'm thinking about drilling into the bumper with a hole cutter and figuring out how to mount them down there instead. Not going to replace the turn signals (need those), hoping to mount towards the middle of those. Ever so slightly more discrete, and possibly better positioned for, you know, actual lighting purposes.

Curious if anyone has done something similar.

well I wouldn't risk messing up a good front bumper to do this all for a $27 set of fog lights but to each his own.

first step is you need to map out where all the bumper brackets mount which restricts placement options then after cutting the bumper, it will start rusting on you right away without the chrome coating so you need to think about some form of cup to insert in the hole to cover this rust and provide a more finished look. I suggest you think about something like these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Recessed-Pl...-RV-/361313766000?hash=item541ffa8a70&vxp=mtr
you slip a pvc coupling over it on the inside of the bumper that has a groove cut out of it to allow it to compress around it, then use a hose clamp to squeeze it over the cup holder to hold the cup solid and secure in the bumper

good luck with it just take your time mapping out everything before you make any cuts.

if it were me I would just mount them under the bumper or in front of the bumper and call it a day
