Hi Folks, Larry here from San Diego.
I've had a tacoma for a few years, several actually.
2 weeks ago I traded in my old one for a new DBL Cab so I can take the family with me.
I'm not super knowledgeable about lifting and tires and such but I will ask in the appropriate forum soon.

My old truck was a 2000, with a 2" cornfed front spacers, 1" add-a-leaf in the back, and 32" tires. Rock Sliders that I can't remember where I got them online, and a Cobra CB.
Oh and Lars Dennert made Quick Release for the Torsion Bars.

My new truck is a 2015 tacoma with the TRD Sport Extra Value Package.

My old truck was about 20-1/4" high, measuring from the ground to the body seam just under the edge. The back Diff was about 9-1/2" from the ground

I measured my new truck the other day and I believe my back Diff is also 9-1/2" from the ground. But it's still got that front down look. SO I'm going to be lifting it a bit. Not to much though.

The wheels on the new are 17" rims with 265/65/R17 which are 30.56". I want to put on 285/70/R17, which are 32.71".

Anyway I guess I should post my wants and questions in a forum somewhere.

I am not a novice but I am not a journeyman. I do recreational off roading but I am not afraid of scratches, which is why when I had 200 miles on it I went off roading to get my custom stripes.

Done. It's broke in. time to play...

Attached is my trade in and new truck. BTW Anyone know off hand the specs on the widths and heights? We have a place called the Squeeze here in Anza Borrego I want to do soon.

    Thanks You guys!
Yeah the pin striping was deliberate, I got the truck to go off road and bring the family on my adventures. Why get a 4x4 if you don't use it? Oh wait, compensation maybe? hahahaha

My old Tacoma was an access cab and you can't really put toddler seats back there. So my Highlander is paid off and we went to Borrego to hike the slot canyon, and I realized I missed off roading SO MUCH. When I got home I was looking at the old truck adn my wife said it's just sitting there, we should get rid of it, and I said yes! and within 4 days she was traded in for the new DBL Cab. hahaha, not sure that's what she meant but she has enjoyed teh 3 trips we've done so far in teeeh past 2 week. :)

Anyone know if anyone's come up with a quick release for the 2015 tacoma? I've actually not been under the truck yet to have a look around...

Congrats on your new Tacoma and welcome!

I feel the same, bought it to off-road.

Hey Matt, saw your firestik mounted on your bed in the back window. can you send me some photos and tell me if it's a ground plane? Been trying to figure out where to install mine.
