i just wanted to say thanks for all the info on how to change the oil in these. I changed the rear differential, the transfer case and the transmission oil yesterday. I used Mobil synthetic in the rear, and Redline in the transfer case and the transmission, and I got new crush washers from Toyota, the old oil looked to me in good shape, and the transmission had one little piece of metal on it. Didn't smell as bad as I thought it would, rather disappointed. I still have the front to do, maybe it will stink better.

I ordered the redline through Amazon a few months back, and the crush washers through the dealership.

20150607_113432.jpg Did my rear diff today myself. Was a little tight on money so i used valvoline SYN POWER 80/90. Have 75/90 for the front. I too used redline in the tranny but chose molile 1 for the trasfer case. Thought i felt 1 kinda thin somewhat lager piece of metal but looked and never refound. Not bad since this is the first change since i bought it new in oct.2008. 20150607_113622.jpg 20150607_113432.jpg
