Engine just hit 200,000... then siezed.

Mechanic says everything looks right as rain and he has no idea why it seized. Does not appear to be timing belt.

    Anyone else have similar issue?

Wondering how much it is worth without the engine. Going to be pricy to repair.

have you pulled the plugs? if the injectors leaked the cylinder might be full of gas or a broken valve spring let the valve fall into the cylinder jamming it. either way pull the plugs and stick a scope in the plug holes to see whats in the cylinders if anything, if the cylinders look clean then the restriction is in the bottom end and you need to drop the oil pan.

don't be in a rush to right it off, it might be something simple that broke and just got stuck blocking it from turning over.

also its fairly new so just put another engine in it, there are lots of options out there for reasonably priced used engines.

another note is this is the first gen forum and you have a second gen so ask a mod to move your thread there for more help then we can offer since the trucks are very different in many ways.

I know for a Fact it was not the timing belt cause the 2005 Tacoma has a timing chain and those do not require any kind of maintenance till around 500k miles or so.
