Has anyone removed the windows of a newer Leer 100 XR or XL series cap? I found one on Craigslist and would need to have it painted. My question is, are the screws around the perimeter of the window all that holds it in or are they glued as well?

That's what I'm trying to find out. I'm finding conflicting information online and was hoping someone had actually done it and could let me know. Some say they're just screwed in place, others say they have silicone adhesive as the weather stripping. I guess in a couple weeks I'll know for sure anyways.

I was recently at my local Leer dealer asking about some rack accessories and he was in the process of replacing windows in a cap (I forget the exact model).....but he simply removed all of the screws and popped the old windows out and replaced with the new ones. It looked like there was some type of weather stripping attached to the windows that was compressed when they were tightened.

Awesome, that's great information! I tried questioning my local Leer dealer and they were uncooperative, you could tell they just wanted me to pay them to do it.
