Anyone ever have problems with there Fumoto valve seizing from salt on the roads? I was thinking of installing one but I worry about the problems caused by winter driving.

It's brass with Teflon seals. Salt shouldn't affect it.

I have one on all my vehicles. Should be OEM.

Depending on the size of the hole and if it's big enough to reach in with your hand or a few fingers, you should be able to access the valve locking-lever. I would also suggest one of Fumoto's "S" valves that have a short nipple for a hose attachment.

Doesn't it thread in too far and not allow the larger particles to drain out of the pan? I was going to get one after stripping my oil pan drain bolt, but that has me thinking.

I've used them for many years with no problems.
For you heavy off road guys add the locking strap available from them also.

Hey guys, I work for Fumoto Engineering of America and thought I should weigh in . I know that Fumoto designs their valves specifically for the OEM oil pans. If there is protrusion into the pan in any major way, the pan may not be OEM. I have heard of instances where protrusion has occurred but it is rare; I also know that any major sludge in the pan won't come out even if you just use the OEM oil drain plug. :) Hope this helps with your concerns.

Just installed one on my 2012 that I had not installed on a previous truck. Since the skid plate does not cover the oil drain on the 2012, it will be VERY convenient. Looking forward to it.
