Ok, so when I dipped my rims they looked great but they peeled away as soon as I tightened the lugs. How long did you let them dry after the last coat? Did you scratch the surface of the rims to get a better bond? Everything else I have deeper has lasted a year. So I don't know what I did wrong

image.jpgJust finished dipping my badges. Can't wait to put them back on so I don't have to drive around with blue painters tape on my truck another day.

Gave it a much needed bath. Of course it goes in for a detailing next week to hopefully get the custom tree branch pin stripes buffed out.

dropped my truck off at dealer in Germany for the 4 lights of death, ABS, VSC, Brake light, and traction control. Germany dealer ran the codes and said the ABS ECU is trashed and needs to be replaced. They said 2,600Euro ($2,900 US). I said WTF and no way. They did give me the code that came up. C0278. So I looked that up. Saw to check the ABS #2 30 AMP fuse. Checked that and bam. 8 Euro later. No more lights on, good to go. They are stealerships in Germany as well.

I only had that on 1 lug i cleaned them with invisible glass and some harbour freight rags to get the brake dist off then went over it with a clean microfiber. On the passenger side i used my foot to hold it exactly where it should be so that the diamiter of the lugnut would slide right in to rim hole. On the other one it centered as i tightened and peeled my dip.

Easier if you just derp them on the truck. Peels right off the truck but stays on the badges

Now I know why the grill emblems for the old Cruisers keep running out of stock , thought they looked familiar . Need to replace mine - 38yrs hasn't been exactly kind to it ....

2004 was a cavalier i had same cracks as 5 other cavalier kids in my highschool. Only on a 5 inch wide strip up front. 98 s10 was brittle as hell everywhere. And most recently my 98 yukon was fine for a while but i drove around with some mud tires that didnt wanna balance and CRACK it bounces from the vibes too much and cracked 3 spots.

Also all 3 were florida vehicles in central florida.

Why didn't you leave them on the truck. Isn't that the point of going all derp instead of actually painting them?

I've used 303 for years, but recently stopped using it on my dash. 303 seems to evaporate and a film forms on the inside of the windshield. It's difficult to remove and smears badly when trying to clean it off. Since switching to Armor All on the dash, I haven't had this problem.

Anyone else experience this? 303 is great stuff for protecting plastics, this is just my experience with using it on the dash.
