Anyone going to the Rebel Offroad Open House this Saturday June 13th!?

Well i'm glad i posted for you and everyone else who follows the San Diego,Southern Cali meets!

 

Howdy,
Im TripleThreat, this trail meet will be at in the Badlands near Ocotillo wells we will also do some washs bring your camera and lets tear some shit up!

Most of it is two wheel drive friendly we have tow straps and recovery gear if you get stuck please bring your own recovery gear, water, and food (use common sense what to bring to the desert incase something happens)

Date: 06/12/2015 Friday
Meet Time: 700pm Pacific time (until the party stops!)
Meet Location: Ranger Station in Ocotillo Wells
(We will leave from the station to hit the canyons and trails/washes)

Sure thing. I was on the RSVP now i'm not? lol but ya i'll be there. I'll be getting a HAM in my truck today too so i'll actually be able to stay in the loop this time haha

 

I was looking at CBs, but at the same time I'm not sure which one would be better

 

A CB is basic equipment for most any offroad club, most of the time its actually required. CB's are limited by law to an output of 4 watts (correct me if i'm wrong) which limits you at best to a few miles. Ham is the next step, technically you should have a license to run those frequencies but nobody is going to be the wiser/or care. This is the first group i've seen where damn near everyone was running ham. If you're lookin to stay on a budget just get some handhelds. I've seen them as cheap as 35 bucks. Most of our usage is going to be line of sight so it should do the job.

 

If either one of you gets the ham let me kno I can install it in like an hour don't pay for it

It works fine since I took the remote mic off. Weird I know. But it's good to go now

 

I thought all you had was a big dido antenna on that thing I wanna get a race head set to go on mine I hate trying to grab the mic and talk while wheeling

 

I'm at a point where I've found a CB that I like and a ham that I like and I'm leaning a bit on the CB side.

I'll be doing installation myself either way, though. Because of my camper, I have to mount it a certain way and I'll be better off doing it myself
