    enough to go over stuff
^this... the skids will make you sag like a mofo. If you get full skids and just plan on sliding over stuff that could work... Congrates on the the crossmember ding. I have a huge dent in mine....

I am currently on stock suspension with a bumper, winch, sliders, etc... and now piecing together a lift.

Yes, the stock suspension needs replaced soon. But I'm glad I went with armor first, then decided exactly what the truck's suspension needs are rather than what I might have in the future... Plans always change with this stuff.

Did you find that you have been overly dragging and bashing on rocks and such?

Perfect, thanks DoorDing, that makes sense. And I've got a topper which adds just a few lbs too.

If you get skids with OEM suspension you're going to be rubbing on rocks even more than you are now.

Thanks for all the insight and advice. I think from this I'm going to go with the OME setup first and then get the skids as soon as possible. Maybe keep my fingers crossed for a great end of the school year teacher's bonus...HA! Thanks again for the time and insight and if anyone has any further new input on UCA's let me know!

If you add the lift but not skidplates, you can clear higher rocks, but the point is, when the 'golden rock' hits your underside, is it going to open up your oil pan, break off your transfer case, tear out your exhaust pipe, or tear a hole in your gas tank?
If you were going in soft mud I would go with lift first. But for sharp, large rocks you want ARMOR. And they are right, that stock skid plate is a joke. And it doesnt cover the exhaust, transfer case, gas tank, etc...

Yes. But I'd rather be protected than lifted and on the trail with no armor. BUT with armor suspension is (eventually) a must to hold the weight up. I wish I could do it all at once, but my bank account says no...
