Camshaft bolt direction???

    97 2.7 & I am trying to remove intake camshaft sprocket to replace head gasket. Which way to turn 17mm/3/4 bolt??? I am assuming CCW but it is not budging.

    In the 3.4 it is ccw I assume it's the same for the 2.7. Is the cam brace on tight ?

    Mine was very tight also. Try some penetrating oil on it.

    I couldn't hold the camshaft at the hexagonal area in the middle. I used a homemade pulley tool to hold the sprocket. Still had to pull hard with a breaker bar to break it loose!
