My 99 4x4 is having an issue every few months where I try to start it and it's dead as a door nail.
Battery is new/fine. Starter is upgraded and good.

It's a manual so I can bump start it and then it's good to go for a long while.

    Thoughts?

    TIA

Maybe an issue with the switch noticing that the clutch is depressed?

yep, test your clutch switch and work it several times, there should be no resistance (0-1 at the most) or the contacts are bad in it

Also, when it doesn't start by depressing the clutch I try the clutch cancel switch and it still won't start.
