So my neighbors have a 2nd gen taco 4 door they may sell to me towards the end of the summer... The thing is is that even though its not a TRD or 4x4 its a PreRunner. And for some reason i think i like the PreRunner more than the 4x4...am i broken? or is there a PreRunner fetish?

I don't like it more than 4x4, it's cheaper than 4wd. That's the only reason I bought mine, that and the fact I didn't think I wanted 4wd. I wish I had it because it is fun to wheel in the desert here in AZ. I haven't needed it but I will get 4x4 Limited with moonroof when the 2016 hits the ground.

I bought a 2015 2WD PreRunner and love it. If you have no use for a 4WD; then consider a 2WD.

But...if you live in an area where off-roading/etc. is immensely popular, then consider the 4WD. It might help you sell it when the time comes.

I bought a base. Don't need 4wd. Don't need to look like I do. Don't need additional ground clearance. Enjoy the more car like ride. My back doesn't need me to load/unload the bed at any higher level (kayaks, bikes, etc.).

Also don't care what the 'next owner' wants. I don't swap much any more, so I see it more as a 20 year ride, and by that point it won't be worth much anyway.

    So I vote no.

The PreRunner I bought in February fit my budget. Sure I would love to have a 4 wheel drive and prob will the next time I upgrade years from now. Just couldn't justify getting it at this point. Love my truck though :) But fetish? I think not lol

In answer to your question, yes, you are broken and yes you have a Prerunner fetish...which I also suffer from...gladly, I might add.

Have owned both. I really do not need a 4X4 so I didn't see the need to massage my macho. I'm old enough to know what I want and Need in a truck. I got a Prerunner because I like the look, but don't want the expense.

Two previous trucks were full size 4wd.mbought a 2015 SR5 DCLB Pre Runner 2wd. Missed my 4wd so traded after 2 months for a TRD Off Road DCSB 4wd. Not the cheapest way to do this so get what you really want the first time.
