Didn't think of the marker. I'll
definitely throw one of those into the kit as well as a few spare fuses for the compressor. Thanks!

Who has an onboard hot water shower? i saw the cruiser outfitters kit but it is a little spendy.
Ive thought about getting a 10 plate heat exchanger and a RV/Marine grade 12volt pump and hard mount the pump in the engine bay, run input/output connections to the grill so i dont have to open the hood to use it.

I dont mind if i have to help prime the system each time due to the distance to water source as the reward of a hot/warm shower is worth it.

Also, should i install filters of any kind before or after the heat exchanger? if i need to toss the line into a creek or river, id think it would be best to filter the water to prevent build up in the heat exchanger, and then it could be used to fill water jugs with either hot or cold water? If im on track with that idea, what kind of filters should i use? ive seen inline filters used with RV's when hooking up to tap water sources, they are cheap and easily replaced. what about a filter for the end of the hose that is tossed in the water?

Thanks for your recommendation. I found some canopy ties at the home store and they are awesome. So fast and simple. I got (8) for less than $4. I tried it with a 8x10 tarp and I'm very pleased.

Make sure to keep some spares of those, I've never had them last very long. Sunlight makes them age and break pretty fast

    Great Idea!

True... or just get some old Military Canvas Tarps... more $$ but last forever if you keep them up.

I meant the ties but that does go for the tarps too lol. The elastic in those ties goes out really fast

I am trying to finish up putting together my camp kitchen bin together and I found these at BassPro

    http://www.basspro.com/Ascend-5Piece-Backpack-Cookset/product/14082007465418/

I know most of the guys on ExPo use the Magma brand pans but those are almost $200 for camping pans which it a waste to me. I went and looked at them at Camping world. They are nice but over kill.

The basspro ones are okay quality and I am going to test them out today. I figure with these and my smaller dutch oven I can make just about anything I'd want to anyways.

The Ascend looks good. I've got some similar backpacking cookware (alum w/ removable handle), and they work great.

Never heard of the Magma before. I see now... SS and expensive. :D

Our family uses cast iron at home and camping. We do use a few bits of your home store variety anodized non stick alum pans.

Here have some sausage and veggies: :)

I usually still just use my jet boil and mountain house meals even when truck camping. Quick and easy, minimal cleanup and compact.

Just curious to see if anyone has ever tried this out. I want to get the awning walls for a awning and mount it off the back of the shell to turn it into a truck tent. Does anyone on here know if the door in the wall is big enough to fit around the tail gate. Here is a link to show what I am talking about. http://tepuitents.com/collections/accessories/products/awning-walls
