Well the first time I washed the truck I put a little too much pressure on the plastic underneath the windshield. The little rubber seal popped loose a little and now just needs to be fixed. Please tell me the window doesn't need to be removed. I'm hoping to be able to just get a new rubber piece and stick it on there.

Is it the black cowling under the windshield wipers? If so, it might have come unclipped. There's two plastic screws at each end by the fenders. Unscrew the screw in place and pop off clip. Also take off the two bottom windshield trim pieces. There's a series of clips the hold the cowling on right behind and under rubber moulding. Reach up a squeeze toward the windshield. You might have to remove wipers even if your just reseating the cowling. There's a rubber trim, channel, tabs, channel. You want the windshield between the rubber trim sitting in the channel with the plastic tabs against the underneath of windshield. It might take a few tries and removal of wipers. Snap the clips back in place, push the plastic pins in, and install the two trim pieces.

If you cannot get it reinstalled. I think it is part of the plastic cowling.

It's the rubber trim that is flush against the windshield that is loose. I can press it back towards the hood and under the molding but it isn't tight on the windshield

It does need to be tight against the windshield. Some that have lost the seal have had issues with water getting into the air inlet for the Heating And AC Blower... Wet Floorboard on passenger side.

So then I need to go to the parts department at the dealer and get the whole plastic cowling? The rubber must have some sort peel off paper to allow it to stick to the window.

I would remove the cowling and see how it is attached first. You may be able to reattach it properly. I'm sure Toyota wants a pretty penny for that piece of plastic and rubber.

Looking at the repair manual and it is showing the plastic cowl and the rubber as a single part.

The glass is glued in the rubber piece does not seal the glass.
