    That looks consistent with 8 years of south carolina sun. You aren't going to get anything out of Toyota for that.

    I know, just messing with you. Ive never heard of salt air ruining clear coat. Intense sun on the other hand, especially if it wasn't garaged/covered and religiously waxed, is another story.

    It could possibly be repainted, sure. You never know about paint work unless you're the original owner from day 1. Even then, cars are damaged in transport and could be repainted.

    I always notice crap paint jobs and orange peel on new cars. Just the way things go. And really hot climates punish cars too, even late model ones.

    OP, good luck with this one. But a repaint from a quality shop may just be your only bet.

    sadly, yup. the eco paints work but must be 100% perfect in every way to last.

    and they are friggin thin

    older cancer/mutagentic paints could get away with lousy prep and still stick for 20 years

    go on the Corvette forums and watch people cry about the lousy orange-peel paint on their 80 thousand dollar vette. :laugh:
