So I've done my research and have read this to be a common issue. Seems to only happen when its damp out in the mornings it will (either the serpentine or a pulley) squeal for more than 10 minutes or until I drive a few miles. Truck is a 2013 with 38,000 miles on it, I was debating bringing it to the dealer suspecting it is the pulley, but I've read stories of the dealer claiming it was the belt (which looks and is brand new), charging $200 because it is not covered by warrenty, and a few morning later the noise is back. I'm outside the 36,000 warranty so I have a feeling they will tell me to take a hike & still hit me with the $100 diagnostic.

Anyone else experience this recently? Trying to get some feedback of dealer experiences before I bring it in and waste $200.

Is any of this under the 50,000 mile powertain warranty??

I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
Most likely its bottom pulley. However at 38 000 miles you may as well swap belt. Those belts in theory are not usable because they wear for components. I would check low pulley and if its spinning too lightly making any noise replaced with belt.

    I agree with BlueT's comments.

The power train warranty is 60K. Belts, wiper blades, brake pads, etc. are considered normal wear items. I would be really surprised if a dealer changed your belt under warranty, especially since your truck is now 2 yrs. old.

Do not apply products known as Belt Drive Dressing. They are not a solution, just another form of "snake oil".
