This. And for every pup, that duration is different.

I will say that if you do crate for extended periods, water should be available to your pup. Riley stays home many days, has free reign of the house and can hang where ever. He has a full bowl of water when I leave-it's usually nearly as full when I return but he does have access to it all day. Oh, and he mostly sleeps in his crate-I leave the gate open most of the time.

Me personally? I see most of the discussions as valuable. I don't view differing opinions as arguments because what worked for me might not work for you-but dog training is like that. There is no cut and dried way to do anything so having differences gives you options.

Tavish and Maisy are the parents in the first photo.

Fergus, Dougall, and Fife are their pups in the second pic. They have had two more litters since.

Again, truly not my intent to personally accuse anyone of being a poor or unloving dog owner. Just making a comment for the sake of debate. In the spirit of things, here's our clan -

Our lab Roxie, being chased my sister's golden retreiver puppy Kacy:

    20907105-3F2B-4455-B4B0-87FD83D37610_f477248d736aac9a528a0bca5eb875eb3aa7d658.jpg

And my parents' dogs, Emma (lab) and Cooper (beagle). Cooper was actually my dog, but I lived at home when I got him. By the time I was moving out 6 months later, he had become way too adjusted to country life with acreage and another dog to live/play with that it wouldn't have been fair to take him away. That and the fact my parents didn't want him to leave haha. So they adopted/stole him from me. Still attached to my hip everytime I go home, and easily the best dog I or my family has ever had. Miss him like crazy, but he has a great life.

We are adding a Rhodesidan Ridgeback (my dream dog) in a few months. I'll post some pics when we get him.

Nice! Did u have a float attached to the gopro? I have a hero 3 but I'd be nervous to launch it out into the water. Cool video.

Charleston (Charlie) is the derpy yellow lab/golden retriever mix and Savannah is the black lab/border collie mix.

Savannah is my dog... A parking lot puppy that turned out to be the best dog I've ever had.

Charlie is here because of the Mrs. He's 7 months old... Still a big goofy pup. But we are working on him haha!

As long as the case doesn't hit anything to crack it you can throw these Go Pros into water all day long. I have on on my dogs harness and he jumps into the pool with it, dives down a few feet and no issues.

But I feel ya, the first time my $400 camera went under water I sure did get nervous!

I'm more concerned about it sinking and not finding it

Here's Huckleberry Phil! These are about a week or so after we got him. My wife does rescue work at one of the local shelters and he started out as a foster that turned into our new best friend. He had a twin sister in the litter so it was Phil and Lil and we added Huckleberry. His dad was a BLuetick Coon and Momma was a Plott Hound. These are the only pics I have uploaded on my computer now but he's 5 months now and just over 50lbs.

She's taken to the tent very well, and likes to be up there if she gets spooked or anxious.

Since she's only about 30~lbs, we just lift in and out of the tent. She's attempted the ladder by herself, but not stoked on the idea. If she got hurt or fell out in a remote area, it would suck. So we play it safe.
