I've been in the Toyota family for 3 vehicles, about 10 years. Started with a Corolla, traded up for a Rav, and finally moved up to my Tacoma. I've had it for about a year and have been researching different mods in that time. Looking to get a lift kit this fall and bigger tires. Any size suggestions for what looks mean with 17" wheels?

Congrats and best of luck with the truck...I have a set of aluminum 17" sport wheels from a 07 I use for snow tires in the 265/70-17 size and I like the looks better than my stock steel rims in the 265/75-16 size. My SIL wants a new Tacoma or 4Runner so bad as her dream vehicle too...

Welcome! Look the at the many builds on this site and you will see some mean looking trucks. They will have their setup listed which can aid you in your decision making. You should also consider your planned usage. Mostly on road, light off road or very capable off road. These variables will affect the cost for your mod plan.

Here is the link to the builds:

Good luck with your future mods!!!

Welcome!! The OME lift kit is a great 3" lift at a reasonable price. The 265/70/17 tire size will fit on your stock wheels just fine and look good. If you want to get a little "meaner" you could go with 285/70/17s, but you will need to remove your mud flaps and do a little trimming of the fenders to prevent rub at that point.

Congratulations again on the new truck!
