Just bought a 96 taco and there's a bit of work to be done. One of the things I need to do is fix the fan speed selector switch.

My question is how do I pull that panel face off? I've seen some walk thoughts for the 98+ but none for the 96 which has sliders instead of the circle selectors.

    Any help is appreciated!

Same way as the 98, take off the slider knobs, remove the dials, slide out the ac switch with small screwdriver and carefully pull the face off. I start at the hole with the AC switch.

I'm just super paranoid about breaking clips that hold the face in. Thanks for the help though I appreciate it.

yep the slide buttons just pull straight off but they can be a little hard to pull so just use steady pressure and its easier to do if they are hot so maybe go out there at lunchtime when the taco is hot inside.

the plate snaps on and off but can hang a little so use a little wiggling and jiggling as you pry out on it with a small screwdriver until it lets go, don't force it or the snaps can break off
