Alright, I know the legal limit is 2/32" so that is a given.

When you live in an area with heavy rains when do you replace your tires? I'm at 6/32" and have a new set of KM2s to put on as I'm not necessarily comfortable with that amount of tread in heavy rains, but I recently got in an argument with a relative who said I should keep running the tires until this fall and put the new ones on for the winter.

On one hand I want to have the peace of mind knowing my tires are safe but on the other it seems petty to risk my life to save a few bucks.

    What would you do?

I know a guy who replaces his tires every 20k miles! He just likes fresh rubber. I know another guy who runs his bald. It's whatever you're comfortable driving on and worth risking. Me personally, I always replace before they get to the wear bars. I live in rain and snow land and truck my kids around daily.
