tacoma ,backing firing,missing ,and very little power

Truck starts missing ,bucking,very little power and backfiring through the engine,and then it will run ok ,it lasts sometimes about 15-20 mim.

 

Based on past experience with another marquee, sounds like an exhaust restriction that eventually clears itself, like with a cat that's breaking up inside. Have seen similar with muffler failures too.

If that's what it is, and you get lucky, it will fail catastrophically and prevent you from starting the truck.

Driving it when those symptoms occur is not healthy for anything, and damaging to a few things.
