    hi there,

I got a 2002 Tacoma in November after wanting to be a part of the truck club for a while,
I haven't owned a car since high school.

Trouble is, I don't know a lot about basic car mechanics and I'm looking to start with the Tacoma.

Namely, I'm having issues with my automatic engine. After cruising and I come to a stop, the engine revs slightly when I'm on the brake. I know it could be any number of things, I'm just looking for a direction as to what could be wrong, so I don't take it to a shop sounding like an idiot.

Hey we all start somewhere!! Luckily our trucks have pretty simple and straight forward maintenance. (At least for me, and by no means am I a professional). Did you happen to notice the rpms while you're stopped? Does it happen all the time or just every once in a while? I think what you should start off with before taking it to a shop and have them tearing everything apart is look under the dash and check the pedal and see if there's anything getting in the way of it being able to come back up all the way, or if it feels "sticky" at all. Hopefully others can chime in on what they recommend, but a lot of the time problems can be overlooked and you never know how simple the fix can be!

I've taken a look at the pedals and nothing seems sticky. It happens pretty often, I'll be sure to check RPM's. It's a very slight rev and the engine does accelerate a tiny bit.

Thanks for the help either way!
