your gonna pay $400 ish for a bed liner or anything really, they go up in price for bigger jobs but never want to charge less.

it sucks too because my big chevy 1500 had to use up about 6-8 more square feet of sprayed and prepped area then our tacos do but its priced exactly the same at $425

There's gotta be at tape that's better than the others for the sharpest lines...

Raptor liner is another good diy option about $130 for a kit. 4 1 liter bottles of product and 1 bottle of catalyst and a gun. If u have an air compressor its pretty great. I did 3 coats in my bed and 2 coats on rockers and flares with one kit and u could prolly get 6 coats in the bed if thats all ur doin. Prep work needs to be pretty heavy sanding and a good wipe down with mineral spirits or denatured alcohol or something. The only issues ive had in 3 years is on the edges where i had sanded down to the tape but left a little for a clean line i now have a jagged edge in places.

Go Line-X man, if you haven't done it already. It's the only bed-liner worth a damn.

I've looked over their website and instructions, and I'm pretty impressed. I'm assuming you've used this on your bed, was the one gallon kit sufficient for the bed including going over the rails? Was any left over? I'd rather have too much left then barely enough.

I haven't, as I have a 2nd gen and don't need a liner. I was planning on doing my Sonoma with it, but the Tacoma deal came along before I ordered material.

I have seen Jeeps with it done in a variety of ways though, and it's quite nice looking and durable, just as they claim. And w/o all that nappy rubber chucks.

Since my truck is a base, when the time comes to refinish bumpers or the rockers get pretty beat, I'll be using this stuff on them.

Sorry I can't help on quantity. I'd measure the truck up well, figure the area, and give them a call for some advise on that.

I think the reason most don't go with the monsta liner is price.

if your going to spend $200-$250 doing it yourself with monsta, most people (IMHO) just drop the extra $200 to have it done for them for a better result and with a warranty to boot.

I know my cut off point is $100 or less to do my own because I view all the sanding and prep work involved as being at least $100 in my labor value so at those numbers I figure im saving half. with mosta liner im doing it myseld at what, "maybe" $100-$150 cheaper then getting it done for me professionally, and its not an easy job even though its not brain surgery

Honestly I work for Rhino Linings here on Guam and LineX seems to be the same process I believe its just a difference in our chemicals. The IMPORTANT thing is to find out how much experience the guy spraying your truck has my manager has over 7 years exp. and the trucks he sprays look amazing. Granted prep work plays a big part in how well the product sticks to your truck , there is a technique to spraying this stuff on. And no its not the same as paint and its not and easy job but as long as the guy spraying it knows what he's doing your liner should be around 3/16ths thick and look tits. If you look on LineX's website they have a video of how it's applied its the exact same way we spray our trucks

and im not hating on the roll on liners but on Guam they don't last your best bet for protection is LineX or Rhino they have WARANTEES

Line-X has been much more durable in my experience than Rhino. My last work truck had Rhino and my current one that is 8 years old now has Line-X. The new one has held up so much better. The Rhino began peeling up fairly quick and that seems to be a common theme with them from reading online.

I have never seen a roll on job that impressed me either.

Rhino is the only "good" Liner over here so I have no other choice but If I could get LineX I probably would really like their texture and haven't ever heard anything bad from them
