    Hi all,

I've posted previously about installing a dash camera and I've finally narrowed down my choices. The cameras I'm looking at use the cigarette lighter 12v for power. They all come with the plug in power adapter. Being OCD as I am I hate having wires going everywhere.

My question is this, is there any issue or problem splicing in the power wire behind the dash where the cigarette lighter wires are? I know I won't have power while the truck is off (as the cigarette lighter loses power when the truck is not on) but the cameras I'm looking at don't support 'parking mode' anyway.

    Thanks!
