Got my tacoma stuck last night. Now she wont drive without the rr diff lock on. When i disengaged it the engine just spins like its stuck in neutral, and gives a clunk when shifted into park. With the diff lock on, no problems other than the tires dragging.

    Help.

you failed an axle shaft, time to start pulling the axle apart, starting at the hubs...best of luck.

Drive shafts spin all the way to the differential. Just will not go in gear without the rr diff lock engaged. Cannot find any info on simmler problems

He said axle shafts that is the things that goes from the diff out to the tires. You may have broke one or stripped the splines

Sounds like you broke a rear axle shaft. Best to pull the shafts and see.

I would rather not go into differential design theory on a sunday afternoon, put the rear axle on stands. Pull both axles, look for damage.
