Last of the 2015's

Any idea of when the last of the 2015's will be arriving on the dealers' lots? I would like to buy a late in the model year 2015 rather than a 2016. My local dealer is a bit tight lipped about this. He is trying to sell six Tacomas that are on his lot now that had slight hail damage...repaired using PDR.

 

I would say the end of the 15 production is very near. One poster on another thread said he can't order a 2015 now but I guess you could check for yourself to be sure.

 

Rumors from the order date thread is the production will switch over July 15. Seems reasonable for 5-6 weeks of retooling and the 2016 models hitting dealers in september.

 

2015 Production will cease sometime in July so your last chance to "order" (preference request) is THIS MONTH.

The 2016s will start production August 29th with September arrivals. Still a possibility for delays but as of today this is the plan.

No one knows for sure. Toyota is tight lipped. Stopped at my dealer tonight and looked like they got a few more.

3 weeks ago they had 20. Last week 8, and this week 12. So who knows.....

 

I ordered my 2015 Tacoma Sport on April 11th. I picked it up yesterday.

 

When did it leave the plant and which plant?

 

It was built on June 6th in Baja

 

I tried to order one but told me production has stopped so I had to get one already done. So I did. I am not sold of the 16's body style yet and didn't want to wait till July to get one. I wanted the Metallic Gray but it was 2 states away.

Not sure if my 2 cents can add anything to this thread but,
I am not sure when production stops nor how long it takes for them to pump a truck out but I live in San Antonio and see a 2 to 3 18 wheelers a week hitting the highways and I am a decent distance from the factory, I would imagine quite a few more trucks are leaving the plant

 

I'm not sure this applies to the Tacoma plant but I know at the Camry plant here in Georgetown, model year changes happen in July. It's usually around the second week then there is a production shutdown for any retooling before the next model year comes out.

 

I wanted a blue ribbon metallic so I got the 2015. I loved my 2009 Tacoma.

 

@Jaque8 works for a dealer, check his post history for details but I think he works for a So. Cal. dealer and has access to the inventory system.
