When you own a manual and take your wives, girl friends or whoever automatic and when coming to a stop you slam on the brake thinking its the clutch? I don't know why but I've done it a few times in my wives car and she smacked her head on the dash.

Have her wear a seatbelt and then she won't hit her head.

And I only clutch with my left. Right is for the brake. I push in an invisible pedal when I drive my wife's AT.

Do you generally use your left foot for the brake?

Maybe you should get an automatic. Less complicated.

years ago, at Driver's Ed, they taught my Wife to use her left foot for the brake, right for the gas

to this day, she can not drive a stick because she instinctively pushes down the clutch instead of the brake

not good in emergency situations ...

my wives brake pedal is pretty wide so idk if it has anything to do with it. Ive only had this happen 2 times in my life but its definitely an eye opener when it happens. Ive driven 90% manuals so might just be muscle memory and my brain saying push something in with your left foot to make the vehicle stop.
