Grand Canyon during Late July / Early August - To wet?

July and August are apparently the wet months. My wife and I were thinking about going and camping during this time. Is that a bad idea?

 

I know a lot 9of the north rim becomes impassable with rain. Lots of MUD.

 

Predicting the weather, especially that far ahead, is impossible. Lots of folks camp around here that time of year without problems. An occasional afternoon shower is routine, but not often is enough to worry about.

 

Thanks. I read one site that made it sound like the area got a monsoon all day everyday that time a year. Then other sites didn't mention much about it.
