This worked on my manual v6, no clue if it's any different in autos..

So I searched and searched for a solution to my parking brake that never really worked after my last brake job. Every thing I found spoke of adjusting the drums them selves.

I replaced the drums and had them honed years back and have had the brakes checked twice to be told they are perfect. Thanks for nothing. One place told me my cable was stretched and needed replaced... I suspect the honeing made the brake pull too short..

So any way all I could ever find was how to adjust the 1st gen brake cables.

Having my truck hold "sometimes" at the boat ramp for the last few years I'm glad I finally figured this out.

Any ways it's pretty simple. Take off the cup holder between your center console and shift nob. It just pops off with a nice or something flat. Then you will see where the pull brake cable splits off to two separate cables "one for each wheel obviously" then there's two nuts you can loosen and just adjust them forward in the direction of the pull brake. I had about a half inch of slack. Before my brake would click about 20 clicks, now it's tight at 13 clicks. Hope someone finds this useful.. Wish I found a thread like this years back.image.jpg image.jpg
