Alright so after having my Taco for about a month now I've decided that I need some kind of cargo/work light and that this would be the first mod to my truck. I'm not talking about the under-rail LED strips, those would be nice to have additionally but I need some decent light to be able to work with at night, like a flood light.

With that being said, I didn't really want to spend too much money on different bed mounted light bars or roof racks and I kind of wanted to utilize the track system in the bed. So I went to my local Home Depot and started MacGyver-ing up a storm. I grabbed 3 foot of 1.5"x1/8" angled aluminum, black spray paint, two 3/8 speed nuts, two(I think)3" long bolts to go with them, and four 1/2" washers.

After cutting the aluminum at 1 foot lengths I drilled holes for the bolts to go through and mounted them to the rail and this is what it looks like so far:

I have two 18w LED flood lights and a wiring harness ordered that should be in tomorrow afternoon. If they don't get in too late I'll try to install them then. I also plan on painting the aluminum black after I drill holes to mount the lights.

    --UPDATED--

Got the lights put on. I like how they turned out with the Aluminum painted black. I think I need to make new brackets though and mount the lights higher.

Should give you plenty of light, plus you if you use a rubber or plastic washer you should be able to rotate the aluminum pieces down to run parallel with the rail when not in use.

Yea I mocked up the lights last night just to see how bright they were and I think they will work really well for what I need. I don't mind them just staying up for now, the washers may be something to switch out in the future though. As long as it doesn't rain tonight then I'm hoping I'll have 'em all hooked up before it gets dark!

Plenty of light! Looks pretty good. Are you going to secure the wires to the bracket? Also, now you can rear flash someone riding your bumper. :)

I thought I might have to tie down the wires somehow but I checked under the truck and they don't hang down low enough to worry me at all; So they'll just be hanging around for now. And yea! I don't plan using them against people but I'm sure somebody will make me change my mind.
