    You going to try to add refrigerant? One piece of advice, is be certain to wear goggles, use a kit that allows addition of very small amounts of refrigerant at a time to keep from overloading the system.
    Best to use a shop and let them diagnose/charge it for you.......if you aren't familiar with the procedures you can get hurt very easily. Just sayin'.

    Yes to all of the above.

    If you are going to charge a system, use gauges suited for the refrigerant. This way you can monitor pressure specs pulled from the FSM. Those kits they sell at the auto parts stores are for people who think refrigerant is like beer - the more the better.
