New to Toyota World

Hello. Came here to see what is going on and what I can learn and get ideas for my 2012 Tacoma which I purchased in October from a car accident.

My cousin thought I was crazy to buy a truck because it was pretty pricey for being a 2012 but he didn't understand me.

I grew up with my dad owning a 1976 Toyota Truck yellow and lifted... we recently decided it's time to take her out and bring her to life. I'm very excited, hope to post photos of her soon. This upcoming weekend we will take her out and get her clean up and make LOTS of notes of what needs to be replaced.

I had a 2000 Tundra for 3 years before giving it to my dad because he Ford broke down which his boss gave him. That's when I decided to get a car and save on gas due to the Tundra being a V8 lol. I am a waitress and sometimes tips aren't so good. After being sad and getting my car was nice, I felt very uncomfortable, small and feeling liken people wanted to race (09 Acura TSX)

When the accident occurred I was sad because I almost finish paying her off but thankfully no one was hurt and 2 months of searching for a Tacoma, I found her...

I am in the process of saving money again because i want to go on adventures and make her a mean looking truck, with a 3 to 4 inches lift, grill, headlights, rails and other items that can't come to mind. Being a waitress doesn't give you much. But it's all about saving and I hope to get my proud Tacoma where I would like her to be one day.

Welcome! Nice to see you brought your father out of the Ford hole he was stuck in and to the Toyota side. Were all pretty much in the same boat with the saving up thing, so well slowly build with ya. Still wish I would have gone with a 4x4 like most on here... But then again, LT kits are cheaper for 2wd

Welcome. I'm kinda new too. Read a lot before posting, but once you do you feel right at home. So much to read and learn here. Really cool buys, lots of DIY mods that will have you lol frustrated because you don't know which to do first. I'm having fun for sure. And eventually, maybe make some new awesome friends that I or you can meet up with and enjoy the trucks together off roading, or camping, or whatever. I personally would love to see a Vegas run from those that are near me. Did one with friends that had Dodge Rams a few years back....way fun. Especially stopping in the middle of the desert to have a Huge water balloon fight in 110 degrees. The look on the faces of the drivers passing by was pure envy. Great time. Good times ahead too I'm sure. Have fun, and don't be afraid to ask questions.

Guys, I am also new. To everyone in Tacoma World thank you so much for your tips and recommendations. Thanks to you my girl has gone through a make over. So here she is with new ARB bumper, Warn winch, new shoes (BFG KO2), lift kit and the finally the TRD super charger.
