    Hello,

I've a 2014 Tacoma Double Cab with the stock, non-JBL, Entunes sound system. Although I am very happy with the truck I'm *very* disappointed with the sound system. As I'm sure all know, it is really quite terrible. I'd like to fix that.

Now, I don't need to be shaking the license plates, I'd just like a solid sound for a reasonable (obviously subjective) cost of less than, or not too much more than, a $1,000. I will be doing all the install work myself.

I've read through many of the excellent posts in the forum and I thank those who have posted such detailed information. But, I have a few questions.

My intention would be as follows:

    1. Replace all 6 speakers and add a small to moderate sub-woofer. (I mostly listen to Classical music so I don't need to blast out a hard bass line throughout all selections, but I'd like to be able to hear the cannons of the 1812 Overture without massive distortion—LOL.)

    2. I'll need to add an amp as I assume the stock Entune unit doesn't really have the wattage to properly drive better quality speakers? (Currently I have to push the volume up to near maximum to get above road noise—especially tough when trying to listen to quieter passages of a piece of music.)

    3. To keep the stock Entune unit for volume control, Bluetooth connectivity to my phone and iPod Touch, F-R and L-R fade control, XM Radio, land radio and backup camera functions.

Based on my prior experience and the How To posts on this forum I have no worry about routing wires, power supply, sub-woofer cabinet construction, disassembly, etc.

My questions relate to how to place the amp between the Entune unit and the speakers:

    (1) Am I correct that there is no LR AUX output from the stock Entune unit that would provide a clean un-amplified source for the amp?

    (2) Assuming there is no LR AUX out, how do I get a signal to the amp?

    (3) If I want to use the existing speaker wires, how do I connect the amp to them without removing the existing speaker wire plugs that go into the Entune unit?

    (4) Given my listening requirements, how necessary is something like the JL Audio CL441DSP CleanSweep OEM Audio Interface?

    Thank you.

i just used the high level input on my amp. not all amps have this. most newer amps will.
If your thinking you might need a sound processor then id say try out the high level input and if you dont like it get a processor, that way you dont buy extra crap like a loc.

if you wanna use the stock wiring, get some metra wire harnesses so you dont need to chop up your stock wires and get some 9wire (think thats what its called) looks like power wire but inside got 9 separate speaker wires.
