So once you get the multimeter, put your positive probe in the bulb socket (with the bulb removed of course), and the negative probe to your ground. I can't say I'm familiar with the Black Magic sockets, but you should be able to do this without much issue.

If you're registering 12V there, your wiring is good. If not, I would suspect that leg of wiring between the relay and lights to be bad.

If that's not it, I would check the leg between the relay and the battery.

Actually, you can try the multi meter this way: you should see two prongs in your bulb socket. Put the probes on the two prongs. Should work just as good. Just take care so you do not short it.

    ARGHHHH

So I bought the multimeter and I was not getting power to the lights (I was getting power to the relay). So I removed all of the plastic covering and shrink tubing and inspected all of the wiring (both power and grounds) and connections and everything was solid. There are no breaks/scuffs in the wiring as it was protected. I then redid each connection, double checked everything AGAIN and still no power going to the lights. WTF!!!! I don't really know what else to do. Power cable from battery to Relay was good too.

    I'm at a loss.....Gremlins??

    I'll consider options tomorrow.

Yea I got nothing man. Sounds like even though you're getting power to the relay and It sounds like it's engaging it might just be bad and not sending power to the lights. I'd pick up a new relay and try it out

I agree. If everything connection-wise is solid between the battery, the relay, and the lights, swap out the relay would be the first thing I try.

That's my plan for tomorrow. Replace relay. If that fails, it must be a defect within the actual wire. I'll replace power & ground wires from relay to lights.

    Good times!! :annoyed:

    Replaced relay....prognosis NEGATIVE!! :frusty:

It's got to be a bad spot within the wire. Off to NAPA for a new roll.

    Good times!!

Ahhhhh man that really sucks, well if new wiring doesn't work, might as well burn the truck down!

    Halle....freakin'...lujah!!! :woot:

It was bad wire....I replaced 1 by 1 and and it ended up being one of the ground wires (of course it was the 3rd one I checked so I replaced all four).

All is now good in the world!

Looks like I won't have to blow up the truck after all.....lol.

Thanks for the tips & moral encouragement!
