I discovered today that my tacoma leaks water from the over head compass. I do have a fair bit of rust on top of the window on the out side that I do my best to control. So i'm thinking thats the reason why its leaking. Even though its never done it before. But question is, would running a bit of silicone over the top of my windshield be a good fix or should I just take it to a garage?? Thanks in advance :)

Some RTV silicone would seal it, but I would take it in and see what they think
The rust could be a lot worse than you can see, no real way of knowing until you get onto it

I would take it to a body shop and have them remove the windshield. Very probable you have rust behind it and it may even be a perforation in the Cab due to rust. It can be repaired, better now than later. It will only get worse.

Silicone may stop it for now, but it is Not a Fix.
