    Hey everyone,

My name's Bernie. I'm new to this site and to trucks. Considering getting my first truck.

A little background - I'm 36, married, with a 15 month old daughter - live in southeastern PA. I've been a long time "sport compact" car owner and fan, quite possibly because that's what I could afford. Anyway, the car I enjoyed the most was my '12 WRX. Fun car, but not enough room to cart the family around (our other vehicle is a '14 Escape). I loved the AWD when it was needed though. Considering a '16 DCSB 4x4 V6 manual. I'm here to research the Tacoma (obviously) and get some feedback from previous gen owners. I guess I'm curious to hear people's thoughts on the tacoma as a daily driver. I also wanted to find out if the double cab provided adequate rear seat room for a car seat and an 85lb Collie. As mentioned, I don't work a job that requires any need for hauling or towing. I just liked the idea of having a vehicle I can use all year, enough room for passengers, stick shift, and plenty of cargo room (without having to get another suv). I'm considering a full size truck too. I'm not loyal to any domestic brand, although I like the styling of the Sierra and F150 - always wanted a V8, but thinking a full size may be overkill for my needs. Any thoughts? Looking forward to more info on the '16, as toyota releases it.

A car seat fits in the back of a 2015 double cab just fine. I use mine as a daily driver and have no complaints, but I have had trucks as daily drivers for a while. The dog would fit, but at 85lbs might be tight on space to lay down with the car seat, depending on the dog. You could always get a shell for the bed, and then you would have plenty of room. People won't be able to tell you much on the 2016, you can look in the 3rd gen forum at all the speculation. It will have more HP and the auto will have more gears than the 2015, but smaller engine. The interior is nicer, it will have more bells and whistles. Neither truck will be a speed demon like your WRX. Welcome to the forum.
