I got a call from these pieces of shit today, the first one in a few months, and it really pissed me off. They call and give me some spiel about my factory warranty expiring and that I should buy a new one from them.... yaddah yaddah yaddah. I am wondering a few things:

How the hell do they get my number, and more importantly make, model and year of my truck? Does the DMV sell it? Does some other company?

Am I the only one that gets these calls?

    How can I stop it?

I don't get the calls, but I constantly get letters in the mail that say important documents all over the envelope. When I open it, it's for an extended warranty for a car I traded 3 years ago when I got my wife's Rav4. It's pretty damn annoying, and to make things worse, it seems to follow me when I move. I still get them even though I got that car years ago in our first apartment back in 2009.

    Here you go.

    https://www.donotcall.gov/

If you still receive calls (I do from time to time) it's from the dealer selling your information which you can find in the abundance of paperwork you signed when you bought the vehicle. I usually listen to the recording until someone picks up, interrupt them, and politely say I am not interested, please remove me from your call list.

If you have a home phone that's getting these calls they sell a device at Radio Shack that once you pick up the phone every time it emits the three tones that mimic the line being disconnected.
The calling computer systems hear that and then record your number as no longer in service. It works great!

My dad always likes to talk and ask them for a home phone number to get back to them because he is busy eating or spending time with the family
Says he really wants to chat about it but now is a bad time, , Lays it on real good.
They get so frustrated they hang up, hahaha
