Over 6 months from the day I dropped off my truck and still no new frame... I have a 2015 Toyota Highlander for a loaner vehicle that my wife has been enjoying greatly so I guess I shouldn't complain but I'm missing my truck .. I've asked several times about the status of my truck and was told that the frame has arrived 2 months ago but no parts kit.. I was also informed that Toyota corp is backed up severely with this issue.. It started as a limited service campaign it was and still is not considered a recall but they did not anticipate the severity of the situation. . I was told Toyota cooperation has dedicated a entire facility to handle the demand for theese frames .. This could be total Horse crap but once again I was told this... The bright side is I'm not putting miles on my truck and I do well my wife is driving a 2015 loaner which BTW is a excellent SUV if you are into them.. But my question is at what point in time does this become non feasible for Toyota cooperation? I mean 6 month wait is insane especially since dealership can't give me a general idea of how much longer ...
1: The estimated cost for frame and labor is 15K
2: Toyota cooperation is paying dealership 45.00 a day plus mileage for loaner ..
Keep in mind this is a 06 standard cab 4cyl 5 speed with 100K
In my twisted un educated mind I would think it would have been better to recall theese trucks and buy back .. I for certain would have bought another if a fair value was given to me.. As of today between milage and daily fee I figure around 9 to 10K is being billed to Toyota cooperation for loaner.. That's 25K total bill for my truck was done today!! I see no end in sight either. .. Like I stated earlier in post in a sense I can't or Shouldn't complain but in another I'm out my vehicle for a long time ...I sure hope I'm happy with end result but .. My gosh Toyota is taking a ass kickin on this one!
