You aren't looking at the whole picture. If you want to keep pointing fingers at the 1%'ers go camp out in some park. They didn't drive the system to the point it's at. We all did, or at least your parents, your friends, your family, etc.

BTW I bet you are the first guy to go nuts if your investments lose a cent lol.

no, actually, I don't even look at the statements. They find themselves directly in the shredder.

BTW, I bet you have a hard time not commenting on any post you see, because you feel like you have to impose your self appointed intellectual superiority on everyone.

    c'mon, quote this one.....do it....do it....

Back when we owned a construction business, we had a fleet to take care of, plus the house sat on a chunk of property...always fussing with something...now I want simple.

We moved so only one of us has to commute, the better half is within walking distance of work.

I dunno, I have never had a lemon for a used vehicle...I do most of the work myself, so I tend to be very picky when I buy used. It usually takes me 6 months to find the "right" one.

I don't think I need to show much intelligence against comments like yours. Seriously, you shred all those tax deductible statements .

This is a forum. If you post something expect a reply. Don't get all childish about it.

You asked why prices are whacked on vehicles. I gave you a long term explanation. Don't get all pissy about it. Like I said in my second comment, I don't support what has happened to our economics system but at least I understand it happened because of all of us, not just 1% of americans, the chinese or whoever it is popular to blame at the time.

Price is what the market will bear. There's a $15K - $20K upcharge for the Z28 because the market will bear it. Same goes with high-demand trucks like a Tacoma Sport or Ford Raptor. It is what it is.

Yup. Things will continue on as long as the economic system in place allows for people to "afford" to pay those prices in whatever way. It's all positive feedback and it's getting out of hand.

Yep, everyone is to blame....would blame human nature if anything...we can't control the actions of others, the only control we have is ourselves...and sometimes we can't even do that.

    Ohh $hiny!

    hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Do you not get a final statement at the end of the year summarizing all of your investments?

I'm not pissy. I'm just not willing to toss $40k plus at a truck. I think its bullshit that prices are that high. I also think it needs to change.

I have noticed you like to get into pissing matches with anyone you can.

Intelligence you may have, wisdom is another manner altogether.

I wait until I have the new to me vehicle for a couple months before I sell the old one...heck, in the 25 years of Toyota ownership, I have only had 3 of them...that speaks volumes. I'll most likely hang onto my current Tacoma, when I add another one, most likely hang onto my SUV as well. We had 3 vehicles there for a while...3 vehicles seems to work well for us. The 3rd was more of play vehicle...but it will work in a pinch to go chase parts. That and will get me to work while one is down for repairs.

I am self employed....prolly another reason why I am tight wad.

Though we have discussed buying a brand new vehicle, we can afford it...but don't want to pay for it, I dunno we will see. ;)

I am with you there. Seems like the best deal out there for a brand new 4WD truck is the Tacoma B-Max...I am finding them for under $25K...seems reasonable...if you can live with it being a bit underpowered. I dunno, that might be just the ticket...and sit back and watch people get into pissing matches over what has the most torque that they won't use....you can laugh all the way to the bank. :D

    ???

I'm not the one hurling out insults and taunting here. Yes I get a summary but if it should not show up by tax day, which happens, I keep all my statements so that I can do my taxes on time. This isn't a pissing match.. I simply stated my opinion and now your bagging on me, trying to egg me on. If you want to do that might I suggest a PM over insults on a public forum like a child?

Yeah...3 vehicles are nice. Takes the stress off.

The 3rd was a classic VW Bus, only sold it because I didn't want to bring it to Idaho and the snow...it was too nice to ruin it. I did double my money on it with the sale...so not all vehicle purchases are bad. ;)

We are going to get another 3rd vehicle for sure....what that is I don't know...it goes from buying brand new (I'll be honest not having to work on something is nice) to another used Tacoma...or even another classic, but has to be 4WD...think 70's F250. Yeah, shitty gas mileage...but cheap to fix and super easy to spin wrenches on...

Classics are about the only vehicle you can make money on...kinda why I am leaning towards the 70's F250. You won't loose too much money on it...I had a '76 years ago, so a little nostalgia plays the part too. It won't be driven much just a back up, and the occasional camping trip. I can get that slide-camper too, with out worrying about killing it like I would with the Taco.

Because some percentage of consumers pay full retail. Those customers are horrible at negotiating. For those customers all of those (in my opinion) totally retarded "sales tactics" actually work. Oh, I have to go talk to my manager. Oh, you have to pay that fee, it is on the sales sheet. You have to pay for undercoating, it is on the car. etc. etc. Car salesmen act like "car salesmen" (and I mean that in its typical negative context) because for 25% or 40% or whatever of the customers, it works. They rip off a non-trivial percentage of their customers, and the rest of us have to haggle to a reasonable price. Car dealerships make more money with this model.
