Has anyone tinkered with the bed rail caps?

When I first saw the bed rail caps I have to admit that I scoffed as I didn't see the use for them since I run a camper shell but I've been thinking about making some changes and I think that they might be of use to me after all.

Has anyone installed them and how do you like them?

I'm interested in annoying Eric with some questions about adding some length to the rear of them so I can drill them for antenna mounts and making the outside edges drop a bit more so I can add a strip of aircraft tie-down track to be able to use while in camp.

Love mine. I'm not sure if this is the item your talking about, but these are Relentless bed rail caps in aluminum. I carry a lot of tools in my boxes, and was smashing the stock black plastic caps flat. These are sleek and cool. No one has them that I've seen in person, so that's cool also.P1010001.jpgP1010002.jpg

Thank you for the pictures. What I was envisioning was more of a 90° angle on the outside bend and adding a small amount of length to that tab to allow me to bolt that tie-down track to it. And I'd like to see about extending the rear portion so I can drill it for antenna mounts.

Sorry to thread jack. I just have a quick question regarding the Relentless bed rail caps. Are the bed rail caps sitting directly on the bedside or is there some sort of buffer between the two?

Sorry I didn't see this earlier, but yes, they sit right onto the bed side. I'm in and out of my bed all day long grabbing heavy tools and other crap, so I rivited them down. They sat flat without them, so they could be all bare and nice on the top.
