All 2nd gen Superchargers will fit 2005-2015. The fit kits WERE different for a year or two when the 2012s came out, but now it's all the same part number for fit kits. If you find a good deal on an in stock supercharger, swoop up on that shit NOW while it's still there. Dealers are gonna start charging an arm and a leg for their remaining stock

 

It's the correct one!! PTR29-35090.. The only difference between the fJ kit is the fit kit.. It is the same SC unit.. I read from your post that they have the fit kit, so just trying to help you out to get a SC unit prob cheaper then your incompetent dealer...

Good point! That listing is from a independent parts supplier, so yeah that's a limitation...

 

If the item is unopened (new in box) I don't see how they can prove you didn't get it from another dealer. Haven't tried it though.

It is a new OEM part being installed by a licensed dealer.

Total BS your right... I know some dealers want to see the receipt to prove that you bought it from a authorized dealer. Why in hell does it matter?? Like you said NIB dealer installed should give you the reminander of powertrain warranty. Typical dealer/manufacturer stipulation.

 

Get URD. Way more power than the TRD. Can be tuned easier. Once your ECU is flashed for your S/C from TRD, theres no going back.

 

Is that a Toyota policy, or dealer policy? If it is dealer I would take my business elsewhere. I'm sure another dealer would gladly take your money for the install. Even if that dealer says it is a Toyota policy, I would try another dealer, after you obtain their fit kit.

 

Screw that!! You can kiss your warranty goodbye! The TRD SC is backed by Toyota the URD isn't. From my understanding any year from 09 and up is a pain in the ass to intergrate ECU wise. The Gaget is AOL most of the time, and by the looks of it is just a TRD SC horder.....people have inquired about buying some of his TRD inventory, but it just seems like all you hear are crickets. For us guys with late model trucks having a warrantied SC is a most.

They have to prove that the part installed is the root cause of said failure, etc etc... Just more shit to have to fight over. It's hard enough to get manufacturers to warranty a stock vehicle let alone one that has been modified. Trust me I have owned two Mitsu Evo's and also 2 STI's. It was like pulling teeth to get them to warranty jack. Especially anything modified. Just my experience

6xchamps you don't have anymore dealers close to you? Maybe just buy that fit kit from original dealer buy a SC online, and take your business elsewhere.

For everyone else concern about Warranty.....meh if you don't want to deal with warranty issues, leave the truck stock. You roll the dice every time you modify your vehicle. As much as the law Magunson-Moss Act is on our side, there's more shit you have to prove even though the law says else wise.

 

There are plenty of dealerships directly around here. The reason I went there was because it is 1. Where I bought the truck from originally (which really Idgaf about) and 2. They were about a grand less than anywhere else. 5500 installed out the door.
Going over today to get the fit kit (600) at least. 5year 60k warranty sounds 5 times better to me than 1 year 12k does. In reality I know it's only going to be about a 3 year warranty. I've had the truck 8 months and have 12k already. That's a huge reason why I'm really trying to follow all their bs and get it done there. I can buy the charger from any authorized Toyota dealership.
