So I'm a member at TrueDelta a consumer reporting site for vehicles (you should check it out) and was updating my profile and it occurred to me that I've had a lot of issues with mine. I'm curious to see what others have had for issues. Here's a screen shot of my problems since owning the vehicle.. What issues have you had? b0727e867ae33fdebdda8932830f6682_62b8d6bfc200836b90b77d4a4fd6ea300c5c1ea1.jpg
Add front driver side wheel bearing replaced at 64k due to growling and vibration.

I have had zero issues mechanically with my truck. Only had it about a year though.

So you've spent $250 in 6 years on your truck, and appear to have a crappy dealer service dept/manager?

    Am I missing something else?

So over the course of a year, you've spent $250 on a 6 year old truck, and appear to have a crappy dealer service dept/manager?

    Am I missing something else?

I've only owned it since last November.
I was curious what others had for issues. I didn't mean to offend.

Seems as though we've got the radio in common. My rav 4 had the same issue (2010).

Just a bunch of old crap
'06 here, never a major mechanical issue besides a U joint on my driveshaft that I broke when wheeling too hard, and a carrier pulley bearing got squeaky so I replaced it for $15. Only real issues I had were with my own upgrades but because I treat them rough. Temp gauge did fail, but I fixed it for free with a reflow of solder on 2 different surface mount resistors. 194k miles later, still running strong.

I don't count dead batteries as a truck issue. That's like saying having to replace your brake pads is Toyota's fault.

Only issues I have had is a valve spring recall, handled by my dealer (twice, as the engine had issues after the initial installation). I also had my catalytic converter fail and need replacement.

Both were under warranty. I'm now at 34054 miles on my 2013.

I think Toyota had all sorts of radio issues between 2009-2011. Not limited to the Tacoma

I have had no mechanical issues in the 3+ years I have had my vehicle. it is a 2012, and bought it new.

I do know this; sometimes you buy a vehicle and nothing is wrong with it, and sometimes you buy a vehicle and every weekend is spent trying to keep it running. There are lemon laws in the USA, none here in CANADA. You should have taken care to monitor your vehicle more closely, if you find a problem, reproduce it yourself, THEN SHOW DEALERSHIP.

Toyota has a 3 year warranty program for so many miles/kilometers. I document everything in a book along with my drivers manual incase of something like this. More people should.

Dealerships are rushed( they don't have to time to figure something out that is intermittant ). They have to have their mechanics working, to make money. The good ones hope the owner can point them to something obviously broken, or something they can demonstrate, if not, its a guessing game .

As for your clutch was sticking, how cold was it in cold weather?
did mechanic mention seeing any leaks or for you to check?
Did they look at the clutch plate itself and tell you it was okay ? ( it sounds like it might be worn down to the metal to me)

Sorry bud, but these are wild guesses here. I've driver ford, dodge, GM, and nissan, and Im falling in love with my toyota every day

Don't get me wrong... Love my truck! I do wish I had less problems though. Dealer found no issues.. At first they thought it was too much grease in the slave or master cylinder. By the end they replaced the whole clutch and plate system. I think it might be a problem with the cylinder housing shrinking when cold because of the material. It started out soo g it at 0 degrees Fahrenheit but then started doing it at 15 to 20. As long as it drives it is what it is I guess. Unfortunately, I bought it cpo so lemon law doesn't apply and dealer didn't want to stand behind it and give me my money back.

I think it should hold out for me as long as the frame doesn't rot (road salt).
